Mickie Yoshino - Otokotachi No Tabiji Soundtrack (Original)
Details
'82 Japanese Original Pressing. Mickey Yoshino’s soundtrack for Otokotachi no Tabiji is a masterpiece of late-’70s Japanese cinematic mellow groove, created for the deeply human NHK drama series Otokotachi no Tabiji. The music perfectly captures the atmosphere of the show — the clashes between generations, personal struggles, loneliness, and the sense of social stagnation surrounding the stubborn security chief played by Koji Tsuruta.
Blending jazz, fusion, soul, and AOR, the soundtrack evokes neon-lit city nights and the humid emotional atmosphere of late Showa-era Japan. Mellow electric piano, emotional strings, floating synthesizers, and quietly rolling rhythm sections intertwine to create grooves that are subtle yet deeply moving.
