'78 Japanese Original Pressing. Yuji Ohno’s Inubue no Theme 7-inch is a hidden masterpiece of late-’70s Japanese cinematic jazz funk. Created for the film Inubue, the track condenses everything great about Yuji Ohno’s signature sound — thrilling grooves reminiscent of his Lupin III work, mellow electric piano, flowing strings, and a distinctly urban jazz funk atmosphere. The B-side, “Wavelet,” is equally impressive, filled with spacey floating textures and a deeply dope library music-like mood.
Despite its short 7-inch format, the record is packed with the essence of Yuji Ohno’s 1970s sound, making it an irresistible piece for fans of Japanese rare groove and cinematic funk.
